TOKYO, December 28. /TASS/. Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong Un has ordered the army and military industrial enterprises, including those involved in the production of nuclear weapons, to speed up preparations for war.

"Comrade Kim Jong Un has set combat tasks for the People's Army, military industry, nuclear weapons and civil defense forces to further speed up preparations for war," the North Korean Central News Agency reported following an expanded ninth plenary meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In addition, Kim Jong Un pointed out that such measures were taken due to "the grave military and political situation on the Korean peninsula, which has been escalated to the limit by the unprecedented intrigues of the US and its satellites."

North Korea is holding an expanded ninth plenary meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. On the first day, the meeting mainly addressed domestic issues such as the economy and next year's budget.
