Ukrainian presidential advisor skeptical about China’s peace plan

China earlier published a 12-point document containing proposals on resolving the Ukrainian crisis through political means

KIEV, February 24. /TASS/. China’s plan on resolving the conflict in Ukraine will not lead to peace, Advisor to the Ukrainian Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak said on Friday.

Any ‘peace plan’ with ceasefire only and, as a result, a new delimitation line <...> isn’t about peace," he wrote on Twitter. "Ukraine’s position is known - the withdrawal of Russian troops to the borders of 1991," Podolyak added.

China earlier published a 12-point document containing proposals on resolving the Ukrainian crisis through political means. The plan particularly calls for a ceasefire, respect for the legitimate security interests of all countries, a solution to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, prisoner exchanges between Moscow and Kiev and the rejection of unilateral sanctions not authorized by the UN Security Council.
