Russian diplomat decries Western response to release of Putin’s interview with Carlson

According to Konstantin Gavrilov, reasonable Europeans said that the interview disrupted stereotypes and showed the whole world what is really happening

MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, has said the response of Western officials to the release of Russian President Vladimir Putin's interview with US journalist Tucker Carlson was rude and hurtful.

"Do you know what the reaction was? An outpouring of rudeness began from the Lithuanians," he said on Rossiya-24 television. "They insulted us, insulted the president."

According to the diplomat, when speaking on the sidelines, reasonable Europeans said that the interview disrupted stereotypes and showed the whole world what is really happening.

"At official events, they are enraged," he said.

Gavrilov earlier said the Russian delegation at the Vienna talks on military security and arms control distributed among OSCE members the text of Putin's interview with Carlson in Russian and English.
