Russian Economy Ministry slams revocation of market economy status by the US as biased

It is reported that circumstances considered sufficient to reconsider the own decision had occurred after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine

MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. The decision of the US Department of Commerce to revoke the status of the country with the market economy from Russia as part of its antidumping procedure is biased and purely political, press service of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development said on Friday.

"This is a biased and merely political decision," the Ministry said, adding that that the US Department of Commerce had confirmed the market status of the Russian economy six months earlier.

"Circumstances considered sufficient to reconsider the own decision had occurred after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine and are the direct consequence of actions of certain countries, the US not least of all," the Ministry noted. It does not rule out that "dispute settlement procedures will be used."
