Yak-130M aircraft arsenal includes laser-guided precision weapons — Rostec

The aircraft's new targeting systems, including the SOLT-130K pod with thermal imaging, television and laser channels, enable the use of precision weapons in any weather conditions, day or night

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. The arsenal of the Yak-130M combat training aircraft has been expanded to include laser-guided precision weapons, Russia’s state tech corporation Rostec reported.

"The modernized combat training aircraft of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has gained the strike capability of a light attack aircraft. The aircraft’s arsenal has been expanded to include ‘smart’ munitions. Its new targeting systems, including the SOLT-130K pod with thermal imaging, television, and laser channels, enable the use of precision weapons in any weather conditions, day or night," the corporation noted.

Rostec emphasized that the aircraft’s primary armament consists of satellite-and laser-guided bombs. It also noted that despite its compact size, comparable to World War II-era fighter jets, the Yak-130M is capable of carrying a combat load of up to 2.5 tons. The weight of the guided bombs themselves can reach 500 kg.

The AI-222-25 nonafterburning turbojet engines, manufactured by the United Engine Corporation (UEC), enable the aircraft to carry such armament. They deliver powerful thrust at full capacity and are fuel-efficient. The aircraft’s digital automatic control and monitoring system ensures the propulsion system’s high reliability.
