Admiral Golovko frigate sails the Channel

MOSCOW, April 24. /TASS/. The Admiral Golovko frigate of the Northern fleet completed Mediterranean missions and sailed the English Channel, the fleet said.

"The Admiral Golovko frigate completed sailing through the Channel and will continue the voyage according to the plan. The frigate completed the missions of its first long sortie to the Mediterranean Sea several days ago. In the Mediterranean, she operated within the Russian Navy force," it said.

The frigate participated in the bilateral Friendship Sea exercise with Egypt.

The Admiral Golovko began the sortie on November 2 in Severodvinsk, the main base of the Northern fleet. The main task was to demonstrate the flag and ensure Russian naval presence in important oceanic areas. The frigate is armed with precision missiles and can fulfil various missions in blue and green waters.
