MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. Competition should grow among domestic producers and new manufacturers must emerge to meet the needs of the military, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday at a meeting of the coordination council for support of Armed Forces’ needs.
"It is not enough to follow a beaten path, interacting with a narrow group of the same contractors, in order to achieve a breakthrough result. Competition should be intensified, new manufacturers should appear here - efficient and modern, ready to work in a new required format," the head of state noted.
Such new producers must be ready "to provide the proper quality of certain products," Putin stated. "This pertains to the medical and to the construction sectors in the broadest sense of this word," he noted.
The President highlighted the topic of regional support. The Ministry of Finance was tasked together with the State Council’s commission headed by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin "to determine the necessary level of such support to those regions, which in modern conditions need it most," Putin said.
