Russia to procure additional hypersonic, high-precision long-range weapons

The matter of development and commissioning of high-precision long-range weapons is under special monitoring by Putin, the defense minister said

REUTOV /the Moscow Region/, February 5. /TASS/. Additional shipments of hypersonic and precision long-range weapons were discussed at the meeting, held by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu Friday.

"The matter of development and commissioning of high-precision long-range weapons is under special monitoring by the president of the Russian Federation. We must report on the progress in this field to the head of state in April," Shoigu said.

According to the minister, "additional procurement of hypersonic and high-precision long-range weapons was organized, based on the calculations of the Armed Forces General Staff, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade."

"Today, we will discuss proposals on funding sources, as well as the condition of the production capabilities for fulfillment of this task," Shoigu said.

The rest of the meeting took place behind the closed doors.
