Armed men hold around 40 people in basement near Kiev — media

Most of them are wounded and need medical assistance

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Armed men are holding around 40 people in a basement in the community of Petropavlovskaya Borshchagovka, near Kiev, the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported, posting a video on its Telegram channel.

According to the news agency, a medical worker told police that she had received a video from inside the basement and shown it to officers. The footage shows people in critical condition, including one person who appears to have an exposed intestine. An ambulance crew arrived at the scene, but the men, presenting themselves as the building's owners, refused to let them in, the news agency reported.

The person who recorded the video said that representatives of Ukraine’s territorial recruitment centers (military enlistment offices), as well as police officers and an ambulance crew, had arrived in Petropavlovskaya Borshchagovka.
