LONDON, October 14. /TASS/. A slowdown in the operation of Starlink satellite Internet terminals has taken the Ukrainian military by surprise, with the change introduced without warning, The Financial Times reported, citing sources.
"Frontline logistics and the ability to carry out medium-range strikes are severely limited," an unnamed Ukrainian official told the newspaper. He noted that the restrictions were imposed "without warning, in the middle of the night."
According to the newspaper, Ukrainian military drones that rely on Starlink terminals are experiencing signal disruptions at speeds above 160 km/h.
Earlier, Sergey Beskrestnov, an adviser to Vladimir Zelensky on communications and unmanned systems, reported that SpaceX had restricted the speed of Starlink satellite Internet terminals used by the Ukrainian army to 160 km/h overnight. According to him, this disrupted "a number of operations."
A slowdown in Starlink service is rendering the launch of medium-range drones virtually impossible, and some missions involving them have already been scrapped since the start of the day, the 7th Corps of the Ukrainian airborne assault troops reported on Telegram.
