MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. A slowdown in Starlink service is making it virtually impossible to launch medium-range drones, some missions involving them have already been cancelled since the start of the day, the 7th Corps of the Ukrainian airborne assault troops reported on Telegram.
"The problem is particularly acute when launching high-speed drones. At takeoff, certain devices, such as the Middle Strike, must reach very high speeds. Consequently, unstable connectivity makes it impossible to launch such aircraft or use them for their intended purpose. The consequences are already being felt in practice. Since the start of the day alone, one unmanned systems unit operating within the 7th Corps' area of responsibility, in the Gulyaipole sector, has had to cancel some missions due to these issues," the statement reads.
Earlier, Sergey Beskrestnov, an adviser to Vladimir Zelensky on communications and unmanned systems, reported that SpaceX had restricted the operating speed of Starlink satellite Internet terminals used by the Ukrainian army overnight.
