Kiev mayor advises residents to leave city for winter

Vitaly Klichko does not plan a full evacuation, even though, according to him, the water supply crisis may worsen and the issue of "survival" is now at hand

PARIS, October 8. /TASS/. Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klichko has recommended that the residents leave the city if they can amid infrastructure problems, according to AFP.

"Klichko said that city residents who have friends or relatives outside Kiev should consider the possibility of temporarily relocating," the agency writes. It said Klichko does not plan a full evacuation, even though, according to him, the water supply crisis may worsen and the issue of "survival" is now at hand.

Earlier, explosions hit the capital of Ukraine. Later, the Kiev administration said water supply system disruptions had begun in five districts threatening a suspension of water supply in some buildings.
