TEL AVIV, February 28. /TASS/. Israel says it has confirmation that Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during strikes on the Islamic Republic, according to an Israeli official quoted by the Kan state broadcaster.

"Ali Khamenei has been eliminated," he said.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Khamenei's residence had been attacked during the strikes on Iran and suggested that the country's supreme leader may have been killed in the attack.
