DPR Boxing Federation chief who died in Moscow blast found on Ukraine's wanted list

The data of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry indicates that Sarkisyan had been wanted in Ukraine since 2014

MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities had been seeking Armen Sarkisyan, head of the Boxing Federation of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), who died after an explosion in northwest Moscow, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's database showed.

After the bomb went off at the Alye Parusa residential complex early on Monday, Sarkisyan was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The data of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry indicates that Sarkisyan had been wanted in Ukraine since 2014. In December 2024, he faced a series of new charges, including for "assisting Russia." His name can also be found in the register of the Ukrainian Myrotvorets (Peacemaker) website that lists individuals critical of the Ukrainian government. Sarkisyan is listed as the founder of the Arbat Special Purpose Battalion fighting against Ukraine.

Early on February 3, a deadly explosion shook the Alye Parusa residential complex in Moscow. Law enforcers continue to work at the site. Investigators have opened a criminal case over the incident.
