MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. Preventive blackouts have been introduced in parts of southern Ukraine following a series of explosions, the Strana newspaper reported.

A nationwide air alert has been declared, according to the official public alert service.

Explosion sites

Explosions were reported in Kiev, Kremenchug, Kharkov, Ivano-Frankovsk, Sumy, and the Vinnytsia, Kiev, Poltava, Odessa, Khmelnitsky, Kharkov, and Cherkasy regions.

Aftermath

Preventive power outages have started in southern Ukraine in response to the explosions, according to Strana.

The newspaper did not identify the specific regions affected by the blackouts.

Monitoring reports warn of risks to energy infrastructure, Strana added.
