Nicaragua, Russia team up on joint projects — diplomat

MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. Nicaragua and Russia have been actively working on projects in different areas, including transportation, Laureano Ortega, special representative of the Nicaraguan president for the development of relations with Russia, said.

"Healthcare, medical technology, culture and education have been and will remain the main areas of our cooperation. Also important is interaction in mass media, by which we can share our perspectives," he said following the sixth session of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. The meeting was dedicated to the eightieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. "Cooperation in the areas of transportation and the development of infrastructure is moving along nicely. All these projects are implemented for the good of our people," he added.

Following the results of the meeting, a document on cooperation in the military and military-industrial sector, industry, pharmacy, agriculture, peaceful nuclear development, tourism, IT, science, and education was signed, as well as a document that will streamline customs procedures for goods imported from Nicaragua to Russia.
