Israel reports some violations of Lebanon ceasefire by Hezbollah

"The Israeli Air Force attacked the terrorists," IDF said

TEL AVIV, November 29. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces reported several violations of the Lebanon ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah.

"Over the past day, several suspicious activities by the Hezbollah terrorist organization have been detected, which posed a threat and violated the terms of the ceasefire agreement," the IDF said in a statement.

In one case, IDF soldiers identified two terrorists who appeared at a "known terrorist site that was used to launch dozens of projectiles toward Israel over the past month," according to the statement.

"The Israeli Air Force attacked the terrorists," it sai.

In another case, IDF soldiers took action in recent hours to prevent additional terrorist groups from advancing into southern Lebanon, according to the IDF.

Earlier on Thursday, the IDF said it had detected "terrorist activity" at a Hezbollah rocket depot in southern Lebanon, and carried out an airstrike on the site. That was the first reported Israeli Air Force attack on a Hezbollah target in Lebanon after the truce between the sides began. The military also said that it opened fire on some suspicious individuals whose vehicles crossed into South Lebanon in violation of the ceasefire.

A ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, the first one since the onset of military activities in October 2023, took effect on the morning of November 27. US President Joe Biden announced that the accord between Israel and Hezbollah would allow the Lebanese army and government security forces to restore control over the country’s territory within 60 days. Israeli troops will then be gradually withdrawn from Lebanon.
