BEIRUT, November 12. /TASS/. Two US military bases in Syria came under missile attacks, the Al Mayadeen television channel reported.

According to the TV channel, at least two attacks targeted a military facility near the Conico gas field in the Deir ez-Zor governorate in a span of one hour. Another strike targeted a base in al-Shaddadi in the al-Hassakah governorate. No further details were provided.

Larger parts of the al-Hassakah and Deir ez-Zor governorates are controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces. Since 2015, nine US military bases have been established in this area. Damascus condemns the United States’ military presence in Syria as illegal occupation.

Following the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip, Shiite units have intensified missile and drone attacks on US military bases in Iraq and Syria, demanding that the United States stop providing military assistance to Israel.
