Russia, China to join forces in safeguarding global supply chains — Wang Yi

"We will oppose hegemony, the policy of force, and monopolization, while promoting efforts to make international relations more democratic," the Chinese Foreign Minister said

BEIJING, April 9. /TASS/. China and Russia will work together to thwart any attempts to disrupt global supply chains, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

"We will jointly counter attempts to draw dividing lines or disrupt existing ties as we will ensure the uninterrupted functioning of supply chains," China’s top diplomat said at a joint news conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following their talks in Beijing. "We will oppose hegemony, the policy of force, and monopolization, <…> while promoting efforts to make international relations more democratic," he added.

According to China’s top diplomat, this year, Beijing and Moscow are getting ready for "close high-level contacts in various formats" as they work to strengthen the bilateral relationship while pursuing a consistent policy that aims not to harm any third countries. Also, he urged efforts to "build relations carefully," and cooperate in line with agreements reached between the countries' leaders.
