BUENOS AIRES, December 7. /TASS/. Russian Ambassador to Buenos Aires Dmitry Feoktistov will represent Moscow at the inauguration of Argentinian President-elect Javier Milei, an embassy official told TASS.

"It has been decided that Russian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Argentina Dmitry Feoktistov will represent our country," the official said.

According to the diplomatic mission, earlier, Argentina’s Foreign Ministry sent an invitation to the Russian authorities to attend the ceremony scheduled for December 10.

Argentina held its presidential runoff on November 19. Milei, a libertarian nominated by the Avanza Libertad (or Freedom Advances) right-wing coalition, defeated Economy Minister Sergio Massa. Milei said during his election campaign that he had no intention of boosting relations with Brazil, China and Russia as he did not agree with their policies. However, he also claimed that he would not prevent private companies from doing business with these countries.
