Hamas’ military wing claims responsibility for Jerusalem attack

The group said the attack was carried out in retaliation for Israeli crimes, the killing of children and women in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank

BEIRUT, November 30. /TASS/. The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, which is the military wing of Hamas, has claimed responsibility for the recent attack in Jerusalem.

"The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades claim full responsibility for the heroic operation that was carried out this morning at the northwestern entrance to the occupied city of Jerusalem," the group said in a statement on Telegram.

The group said the attack was carried out in retaliation for Israeli crimes, the killing of children and women in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as the desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli radio station Kan said two Palestinians from East Jerusalem used firearms to carry out a terrorist attack at the entrance to the city from the direction of Tel Aviv. The radicals, one armed with an M-16 assault rifle and the other with a pistol, got out of a car and opened fire at people at a bus stop. They were gunned down by Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry earlier said that at least three Israelis were killed and six were injured in the attack. The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades said 12 Israelis sustained injuries.
