US base in northeast Syria attacked by drones

The Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance claimed responsibility for the attack

BEIRUT, November 9. /TASS/. A swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles delivered strikes on a US military base in Al-Shaddadah, located in the south of Syria’s Al-Hasakah Governorate next to Al-Jebsa oil fields, the Al Mayadeen television reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, several explosions were heard on the territory of the facility.

The Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance claimed responsibility for the attack. On Tuesday, its members attacked twice another US base, located near the Conoco gas field in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province.

On November 5, Shia drones struck US bases in Tell Beydar and Qesrek area near Al-Hasakah, some 620 km away from Damascus.

Pentagon Press Secretary Patrick Ryder said earlier on Wednesday that over 30 attacks on US bases in the region had taken place since October 17. A total of 28 US servicemen were injured as a result.

A spokesman for the Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance, Jaafar al-Husseini, told the TV channel on October 24 that "Mujahideen forces have sided with the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, and to support them, they have targeted US bases.".
