China’s diplomat comments on Zelensky’s intention to meet with Xi

According to Mao Ning, Beijing will promote the Ukrainian conflict settlement by political means

BEIJING, February 27. /TASS/. China hold a steadfast position on the Ukrainian problem and will to its best to resolve it peacefully, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said on Monday, commenting on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s intention to meet with Chinese President Xi Jining.

"China has a very clear and steadfast position on the Ukrainian crisis," she said. "The key factor is promoting peace talks."

According to the Chinese diplomat, Beijing will promote the Ukrainian conflict settlement by political means. "We maintain contacts with each of the parties, including Ukraine," she said.

Zelensky said last Friday that he would like to meet with Xi Jinping to discuss both the situation in Ukraine and economic relations between the two countries.
