Pink Floyd founder Waters speaks at UNSC calling for immediate ceasefire in Ukraine

Roger Waters spoke at the meeting at the request of the Russian side

UN, February 8. /TASS/. Roger Waters, a founder of the UK rock legend Pink Floyd, has called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. He took part in the Russia-convened UN Security Council on Ukraine on Wednesday speaking via a videoconference link.

"We do not willingly raise our sons and daughters to provide fodder for your cannons. In our opinion, the only sensible course of actions today is an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. No if’s, not but’s no and’s," he said.

"President [of the US Joe] Biden, President [of Russia Vladimir] Putin, President [of Ukraine Vladimir] Zelensky, the US, NATO, Russia, the EU - all of you, please change course now, agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine today," Waters added.

Russia convened a meeting of the US Security Council to discuss the fact that the West’s supplies of weapons to Kiev make a peaceful settlement of the conflict difficult to achieve.
