PRAGUE, January 28. /TASS/. Retired Army General Petr Pavel has secured 58.32% of the votes in the Czech presidential election that ended on Saturday, the CTK news agency said citing the Czech Statistical Office as 100% of the ballots were counted.
Pavel won the support of 3,358,926 voters in Friday and Saturday’s presidential runoff vote. His opponent, former Prime Minister Andrej Babis, received 41.67% of the votes, as 2,400,271 people voted for him.
The turnout was 70.25% among 8.25 million voters registered in the Czech Republic, which has a population of about 10.6 million people.
