No chance Trump impeachment procedure be completed before Biden’s inauguration

"Even if the Senate process were to begin this week and move promptly, no final verdict would be reached until after President Trump had left office," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said

WASHINGTON, January 14. /TASS/. There is "no chance" President Trump Donald Trump’s Senate trial could yield a verdict before President-elect Joe Biden takes office on January 20, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky, said in a statement after the House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump.

"Given the rules, procedures, and Senate precedents that govern presidential impeachment trials, there is simply no chance that a fair or serious trial could conclude before President-elect Biden is sworn in next week," the statement said. "Even if the Senate process were to begin this week and move promptly, no final verdict would be reached until after President Trump had left office. This is not a decision I am making; it is a fact.".
