‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ wins Best Picture Oscar

NEW YORK, March 13. /TASS/. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert's ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ (2021) has won the Academy Award for Best Picture, according to the ABC broadcast.

The movie is about the struggle of an ordinary woman from our world against evil in parallel universes. It combines elements of absurdist comedy, science fiction, martial arts action, fantasy and cartoon.

Kwan and Scheinert's film competed with Steven Spielberg's ‘The Fabelmans’ (2022), James Cameron's ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (2022), Sarah Polley's ‘Women Talking’ (2022) and Edward Berger's ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ (Im Westen nichts Neues, 2022). Other films up for Oscar in the main category were Martin McDonagh's ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ (2022), Baz Luhrmann's ‘Elvis’ (2022), Todd Field's ‘Tar’ (2022), Joseph Kosinski's ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ (2022) and Ruben Ostlund’s ‘Triangle of Sadness’ (2022).
