Vietnam plans to launch satellites in partnership with SpaceX in 2027

The US company will deliver the Vietnamese satellites into orbit, while the Vietnamese company will be responsible "for the research, development, manufacturing and on-orbit operation of its satellites"

HANOI, August 11. /TASS/. The Vietnamese aerospace company VinSpace, a subsidiary of the Vingroup conglomerate, has signed a contract with the US corporation SpaceX to launch satellites in 2027, Vingroup’s press service reported.

It said that the US company will deliver the Vietnamese satellites into orbit, while the Vietnamese company will be responsible "for the research, development, manufacturing and on-orbit operation of its satellites." According to the company, the "agreement marks a significant milestone in VinSpaces roadmap to build comprehensive aerospace capabilities, advancing its mission to foster the development of Vietnams space industry."

Mr. Thu Vu, Chief Executive Officer of VinSpace, shared that: "Reliable access to space is fundamental to turning satellite innovation into operational missions. This contract with SpaceX is an important milestone in VinSpace’s long-term strategy to help build Vietnam’s space ecosystem and strengthen the country’s position within the global space economy," according to the press service.

According to VinSpace’s website, the organization aims to become Vietnam’s leading full-cycle company in the aerospace industry. To this end, the company intends to develop capabilities in the fields of satellite systems, ground infrastructure, communications, and geospatial intelligence.
