MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Western politicians are lying about the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, just like they lied about the Minsk agreements, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the State Duma (the nation’s lower house of parliament) on Wednesday.
The top diplomat highlighted the now-infamous revelations by ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel and ex-President Francois Hollande of France that translate to the "acknowledgement of guilt for disrupting the Minsk agreements, which were proclaimed by all Western leaders as an uncontested basis for a settlement in Donbass."
"To put it simply, everyone lied to us, just like they are lying now, covering up the truth about the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream," Lavrov said.
Lavrov stressed that all these years, Western handlers "have been directly prodding the criminal Kiev regime to use force to solve the problems of Donbass, turning a blind eye to the inevitable massive ethnic cleansing and physical extermination of Russians and Russian-speakers."
"The other day, NATO Secretary General [Jens] Stoltenberg joined the choir of confessions. He said in Brussels that the war began in 2014 and NATO has been readying for it since then, meaning, from the moment of the coup and the rise of the Nazis to power in Kiev with a pledge to destroy everything Russian in Ukraine," the diplomacy chief said.
"Until the last moment, we did everything possible to reduce tension, and search for an equal, mutually respectful agreement," he said.
