CIA director in Ankara to speak with Russian counterpart — agency

WASHINGTON, November 14. /TASS/. US Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns is in Ankara to meet with his Russian counterpart, Reuters said on Monday, citing a White House official.

According to the official, Burns is tasked to convey a message to the Russian side about the consequences of the possible use of nuclear weapons by Russia. "He is not conducting negotiations of any kind. He is not discussing settlement of the war in Ukraine," the official was quoted as saying. He also said that the Ukrainian side was notified about the CIA chief’s visit to Ankara.

Apart from that, according to the official, Burns plans to raise the issue of US nationals detained in Russia.
