MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. Russian troops struck four Ukrainian army command posts in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Monday.
"The strikes by operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops wiped out four Ukrainian army command posts in the areas of the settlements of Stepovaya Novosyolovka in the Kharkov Region, Davydov Brod and Andreyevka in the Kherson Region and Olenovka in the Nikolayev Region, 72 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 174 areas. In the area of the community of Dvurechnaya in the Kharkov Region, a Ukrainian army ammunition depot was obliterated," the spokesman said.
Russian forces repelled the Ukrainian army’s attacks in the Kupyansk area in the Kharkov Region, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk area, up to three enemy motorized infantry companies made attempts to attack the Russian troops’ positions near the settlements of Pershotravnevoye, Orlyanka and Berestovoye in the Kharkov Region. All the attacks were repelled," the spokesman said.
The enemy forces were pushed back to initial positions as a result of damage by firepower inflicted by Russian troops, which destroyed over 25 Ukrainian militants, one tank, five armored personnel carriers and four pickup trucks, the general added.
The Ukrainian military was pushed back in its unsuccessful attempts to wedge into the Russian troops’ defenses in the Krasny Liman area, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, up to two mechanized companies of the Ukrainian army attempted to wedge into the Russian troops’ defenses in the areas of the settlement of Chervonopopovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The enemy was stopped and pushed back to its initial frontier as a result of air strikes, artillery fire and the fire of defending units," the spokesman said.
Russian forces eliminated over 20 Ukrainian troops and two infantry fighting vehicles, the general said.
Russian artillery fire and active troop operations thwarted a Ukrainian army attack in the southern Donetsk area, Konashenkov reported.
"In the southern Donetsk area, the enemy’s two company tactical groups attacked the Russian troops’ positions in the areas of the communities of Sladkoye and Vladimirovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy’s attack was repelled by artillery fire and active operations of Russian army units," the spokesman said.
During the combat, the Ukrainian military lost 25 militants, one tank, three infantry fighting vehicles and two motor vehicles, the general said.
The Ukrainian military made unsuccessful attempts to attack the positions of Russian troops in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog area, losing over 80 troops, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, the enemy’s battalion tactical group unsuccessfully attacked the positions of Russian troops in the areas of the settlements of Bruskinskoye, Pyatikhatki and Trifonovka in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.
As a result of damage by firepower and Russian artillery concentrated strikes, the Ukrainian military lost over 80 troops, 11 combat armored vehicles and 15 motor vehicles, the general said.
Russian air defense forces shot down three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and intercepted 21 HIMARS and Olkha rockets in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Yagodnoye in the Kharkov Region, Shevchenko and Maliy Kermenchik in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In addition, they intercepted 21 rockets of HIMARS and Olkha multiple launch rocket systems near the communities of Lisichansk in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.
Russian troops have destroyed over 6,000 Ukrainian tanks and other combat armored vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
"In all, the following targets have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation: 325 aircraft, 162 helicopters, 2,326 unmanned aerial vehicles, 383 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,020 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 874 multiple rocket launchers, 3,521 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,741 special military motor vehicles," the spokesman said.
