MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. Russian forces destroyed two Ukrainian artillery batteries and two platoons of Uragan multiple rocket launchers in counter-battery fire in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Wednesday.
"In counter-battery warfare, two artillery batteries were struck in the area of the settlement of Glushkovka in the Kharkov Region along with two platoons of Uragan multiple launch rocket systems in the areas of the communities of Volchansk in the Kharkov Region and Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
Russian forces obliterated three Ukrainian ammunition depots and two S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, Konashenkov reported.
"Three ammunition depots were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Chervona Dolina in the Kharkov Region, Novogrigorovka in the Zaporozhye Region and Bereznegovatoye in the Nikolayev Region," the spokesman said.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed two Ukrainian S-300 surface-to-air missile launchers in the areas of the communities of Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region and Novoyelizavetovka in the Odessa Region, the general said.
The strikes by Russian operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops destroyed seven Ukrainian command posts in the areas of the settlements of Metallovka and Dvurechnaya in the Kharkov Region, Ilyichovka, Toretsk, Yakovlevka and Podgornoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye Region and also 64 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 156 areas, Konashenkov reported.
Russia’s Aerospace Forces struck units of two Ukrainian army brigades and foreign mercenaries’ formations in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog area, he said.
"In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, missile strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces in the area of the city of Nikolayev and the communities of Novovoskresenskoye, Bezymennoye and Trifonovka in the Kherson Region inflicted damage on units of the Ukrainian army’s 60th infantry and 35th marine infantry brigades and also Foreign Legion formations of mercenaries," the spokesman said.
In all, Russian forces destroyed over 120 Ukrainian troops and mercenaries, eight combat armored vehicles and 12 motor vehicles in that area in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
Russian air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 ground attack aircraft and 12 unmanned aerial vehicles and intercepted 11 HIMARS and Olkha rockets in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"Air defense capabilities shot down a Su-25 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force in the area of the settlement of Trifonovka in the Kherson Region. They also shot down 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the communities of Chaikino, Sukhanovo and Kucherskoye in the Kherson Region, Novosyolovka, Staromayorskoye and Luganskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Popasnaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
"In addition, they intercepted 11 shells of HIMARS and Olkha multiple launch rocket systems and also 8 HARM anti-radar missiles in the area of the settlement of Kakhovka in the Kherson Region," the general added.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 324 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 161 helicopters, 2,278 unmanned aerial vehicles, 383 surface-to-air missile systems, 5,891 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 873 multiple rocket launchers, 3,489 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,652 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
