KHERSON, October 4. /TASS/. The Ukrainian battlegroup that moved forward towards the village of Dudchany in the Kherson Region ended up trapped in a fire pocket set up by Russian forces, Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the regional military-civilian administration, said on Tuesday.
"In the Dudchany area, the advance by Ukrainian Neo-Nazis has practically stopped and now aircraft and artillery are finishing crushing in the fire pocket all those who intruded into the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation," he said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.
Head of the Kherson regional military-civilian administration Vladimir Saldo said on Monday that two Ukrainian battalions, which had attempted to break through in the Dudchany area towards the Kakhovka hydro power plant were routed.
Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Monday that the overwhelming Ukrainian armored units had wedged into the Russian army defenses near Zolotaya Balka and Aleksandrovka in the Kherson Region.
