MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. Air defenses intercepted 592 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions during the past night, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
Teenagers aged 17 and 14 were injured in a drone attack on the Volga city of Ulyanovsk, and a man was killed by shrapnel as a result of a drone attack in the Perm Region in eastern Russia.

Scope
- Between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time (8:00 p.m. GMT) on September 24 and 8:00 a.m. Moscow time (8:00 a.m. GMT) on September 25, alert air defense capabilities intercepted and destroyed 592 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over Russian regions, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
- Specifically, drones were downed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Tver, Tula, Samara, Smolensk, Moscow, Krasnodar and Perm Regions, the republics of Udmurtia, Tatarstan and Crimea and the Black Sea, the ministry specified.
- Last night, air defenses destroyed 88 Ukrainian drones over the Voronezh Region in southwestern Russia, Governor Alexander Gusev wrote on Max channel.
- Approximately 50 UAVs were destroyed last night in southern Russia’s Rostov Region, Governor Yury Slyusar reported on Max channel.
- Air defenses destroyed 36 Ukrainian drones over the Kaluga Region, according to Governor Vladislav Shapsha.
- Air defenses destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones over the Tula Region, Governor Dmitry Milyayev wrote on Max channel.
- Overnight, air defenses destroyed 17 Ukrainian drones over the Oryol Region, Governor Andrey Klychkov reported on Max channel.
Ulyanovsk Region affected
- Eight people, including two children, were injured in a drone attack on the Ulyanovsk Region, according to a post on Max channel from Governor Alexey Russkikh.
- Children aged 17 and 14 were injured, the region’s Health Ministry specified on Max channel. Three of those injured have been taken to hospital.
- In addition, damage to industrial and civilian infrastructure was reported as a result of a UAV attack.
- A plant in Ulyanovsk was damaged in the attack as an industrial facility was targeted, Russkikh said later.
- Damage was reported at the plant; also, residential buildings were damaged, the governor added.
- The Russian Investigative Committee (IC) has opened a criminal case on charges of terrorism following the Ukrainian attack on civilian facilities in the Ulyanovsk Region, IC Spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said.
- Specific units and Ukrainian servicemen implicated in the crime are currently being identified.
Other impacted regions
- A man was killed by shrapnel as a result of a drone attack on the Perm Region in eastern Russia, Governor Dmitry Makhonin reported on Max channel.
- A relief operation in the wake of a drone attack on an industrial facility is ongoing.
- Meanwhile, the number of those injured in last night’s drone attack on the Voronezh Region in southwestern Russia has climbed to 13, including a 6-year-old child, according to Governor Alexander Gusev.
- Two people, a woman born in 1963 and a man born in 2001, are in intensive care.
- The windows in residential buildings were damaged, and multiple vehicles were also damaged.
- In southern Russia’s Rostov Region, a petroleum plant in Novoshakhtinsk was damaged in an aerial attack, Governor Yury Slyusar said on Max channel.
- A man was killed as Ukrainian troops attacked a truck near the locality of Pyatniskoye in the Volokonovka Municipality of the bordering Russian region of Belgorod, the regional operational headquarters reported.
- Another man was hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds in Volokonovka.
- In Yefremov in central Russia’s Tula Region, windows were damaged in several residential buildings and private homes, Governor Dmitry Milyaev wrote on Max channel.
- According to preliminary information, no one has been injured.
