MELITOPOL, February 14. /TASS/. The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an artillery strike on the Zaporozhye Thermal Power Plant (TPP) as a result of which the energy equipment was critically damaged, and more than 50,000 residents of the region were left without electricity, the regional Ministry of Energy reported.
"On the night of February 13 at 23:40 [Moscow time], the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an artillery strike on the Zaporozhye Thermal Power Plant. There were no casualties or injuries among personnel or civilians. As a result of the shelling, power equipment was critically damaged, which led to a power outage for more than 50,000 subscribers. The lack of power supply is observed in the city of Energodar, Kamensko-Dneprovsky and Veselovsky municipal districts," the ministry's Telegram channel said.
Currently, specialists are working to restore power supply.
