TASS, September 1. An unidentified target was detected and shot down above the western Russian city of Pskov, regional Governor Mikhail Vedernikov wrote on Telegram on Friday.
"Crew members of an airspace control post have detected an isolated unidentified object moving above the Kresty district [of the city]," he said.
According to the governor, measures to neutralize the target were undertaken immediately.
"No damage was reported on the ground," he added.
A TASS correspondent, who arrived at the scene early on Friday, said that air defense systems in the area were silent at this point, and no shots were being fired. The area adjacent to the city’s airport remained open for all types of traffic.
