MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. The Nord Stream-2 project will be realized despite any attempts to halt it, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov told TASS on Tuesday.
"As long as South Stream is not built, Nord Stream-2 is being implemented," he said. "Although some are trying to plot schemes against it as well. But I think that despite all the attempts to throw sand in the wheels, in the pipe, to be more precise, this project will be finally realized, just like Nord Stream-1 was realized despite all the fault-finding."
The Russian diplomat did not rule out the South Stream project could be revived. "Theoretically, such a possibility does exist, first, if the European Commission revises its attitude to this project, and, second, if the countries that were its potential participants revive their interest," he said. "Such statements have already been heard from the Bulgarian government."
