First ATM servicing Russia’s Mir cards open in capital of Nicaragua — Ambassador

According to the ambassador, a more active entry of Russian financial structures into the Nicaraguan market is on the agenda

MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. The first ATM accepting cards of Russia's Mir payment system is already working in Nicaragua's capital Managua, Russian Ambassador to Nicaragua Mikhail Ledenev said.

"The first ATM for Russia’s Mir cards is already operating in the city of Managua. Our employees have successfully tested it, received money from their accounts in Russia here in Managua. This was the first step and I hope that another such ATM will start working here in the near future," he said in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV channel.

According to the ambassador, a more active entry of Russian financial structures into the Nicaraguan market is on the agenda. "There are also excellent conditions for tourism here, there are beautiful beaches, there are already ready-made hotel complexes, so if our tourists come here, of which, unfortunately, there are few due to logistical difficulties, then it would make sense to more actively promote the issue of Mir cards here," he added.
