Transneft capable of increasing jet fuel supplies to Moscow airports

As the company specified, the pipeline commissioning made it possible to increase petroleum products offtake from the refinery and scale up jet fuel deliveries to Moscow airports to 3 mln metric tons annually

MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. Transneft - Upper Volga has increased the offtake of petroleum products from the Moscow Refinery, making it possible to boost jet fuel deliveries to Moscow airports almost twofold, the pipeline company said.

"Transneft - Upper Volga completed implementation of the project on connection of the Gazpromneft - Moscow Refinery to the petroleum product main ring pipeline around Moscow," the pipeline operator said. "The objective is to take additional fuel volumes in the pipeline system and increase deliveries of oil products to consumers of the Moscow Region, including jet fuel to capital hub airports: Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo," it noted.

The company de-mothballed a 32-km long petroleum product pipeline from the Moscow Refinery to the Volodarskaya line dispatching station as part of this project.

"The pipeline commissioning made it possible to increase petroleum products offtake from the refinery and scale up jet fuel deliveries to Moscow airports almost twofold, to 3 mln metric tons annually; diesel fuel for Moscow Region’s consumers to 2.8 mln metric tons per year, and motor gasoline to 1.6 mln metric tons per year," the company added.

In December 2023, Transneft - Upper Volga also started using a drag reducing agent when pumping oil products in seven regions in Central Russia.
