MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/. Oil supplies via oil pipelines to China in 2023 remained at the level of the previous year and amounted to 40 mln tons, the Transneft oil pipeline operator said in a statement.
"40 million tons were sent through oil pipelines to China, same as last year," the statement said.
Earlier, Transneft CEO Nikolay Tokarev said that shipments of Russian oil to China in 2023 amounted to about 100 million tons.
Transneft has put into operation the Gruzovaya railway station, which will allow it to supply another 7 million tons of oil for transshipment in the Far Eastern port of Kozmino. The company is also building a new oil pumping station in the Irkutsk region at the Achinsk line operation dispatcher station, which it plans to launch in the first half of 2024. This will allow it to supply another 7 million tons of oil by rail to China and the port of Kozmino.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak reported that Russia supplied more oil to China in 10 months of 2023 than in the entire 2022. According to TASS calculations based on data published on December 20 by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, Russia exported 97.5 million tons of oil to China in January-November 2023, which is up 22% year-on-year.
In 2022, Russian oil exports to China increased by 28%, to 89 million tons. Oil supplies from Russia to India soared 19 times in 2022, to 41 million tons, supplies of oil products increased twofold to 6.2 million tons.
