VLADIVOSTOK, September 6. /TASS/. Authorities of Yakutia and the Amur Region signed a memorandum on cooperation in the construction of the Dzhalinda (Russia) - Mohe (China) international railway bridge at the Eastern Economic Forum. This was announced in Telegram by the head of Yakutia Aysen Nikolayev.
"The construction of the bridge crossing will increase the capacity of the Eastern Railway to export goods from South Yakutia to up to 10 million tons per year, will relieve the railroad tracks, and in addition, the absence of transshipment in the transport chain will have a positive impact on the ecology of Yakutia," Nikolayev wrote.
The Dzhalinda-Mohe border crossing opened in 1993, however, in the early 2000s, operations were suspended due to low freight and passenger traffic. The resumption of shipments through Dzhalinda-Mohe is expected to simplify shipments from Yakutia to China.
Organized by the Roscongress Foundation, the Seventh Eastern Economic Forum will be running from September 5 to September 8 in Vladivostok. TASS is the event’s general information partner and its official photohost agency. This year, the theme of the forum is: "On the Path to a Multipolar World."
