Russian aerospace forces hit terrorists’ facilities in Syria’s Idlib governorate

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Russian aerospace forces have hit militants’ targets, including a munitions depot and two underground shelters, in the Syria’s Idlib governorate, Vadim Kulit, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Monday.

"Russian aerospace forces delivered airstrikes on facilities of illegal armed groups involved in shelling attacks on the positions of Syrian government troops. As a result of airstrikes, militants’ munitions depot and two underground facilities were destroyed," he said.

He said that during the day, two shelling attacks on the positions of government forces from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist (outlawed in Russia) were reported in the Idlib de-escalation zone. One Syrian soldier was killed and one more wounded as a result of mortar shelling on the positions of Syrian government forces near the settlement of Ikko.

Apart from that, according to Kulit, a pair of F-15 and one pair of F-18 US-led coaltion’s fighter jets, as well as three MQ-1C multi-role unmanned aerial vehicles violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, seven times during the day.

"The coalition continues to create dangerous situation that may cause air accident or incidents and escalate the situation in Syria’s airspace," he stressed.
