SIMFEROPOL, April 11. /TASS/. The crew of the Black Sea Fleet’s frigate Admiral Makarov practiced a naval battle with artillery firings during drills in the Black Sea, the Fleet’s press office reported on Tuesday.

"The crew of the Black Sea Fleet’s frigate Admiral Makarov practiced elements of the second special course task: ‘Deployment and Battle by a Standalone Ship’ in the Black Sea waters. In order to carry out practical operations, the ship deployed to the sea, made a transit to the combat training range and accomplished artillery firings against naval and aerial targets," the press office said in a statement.

As part of practicing elements of the special course task, the naval sailors "conducted shipborne air defense and electronic warfare drills, and also practiced the algorithm of operations in the course of training in ship damage control while on the move," the press office said.

"Earlier, the ship’s personnel passed the first course task K-1, which is an annual initial stage in the system of admitting crews to accomplishing assigned missions," the press office reported.
