MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. Ukraine received by early April 57 Western tanks out of 293 ones promised by Western nations at the moment, according to TASS counts based on official statements of countries supplying combat vehicles.
Therefore, 19% of promised Western tanks have been delivered to Kiev so far.
Germany announced on January 25 that it would send fourteen Leopard 2A6 tanks and promised to allocate four more tanks of this type on February 24. Ukraine already received these tanks, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on March 27.
Berlin also approved the supply of 178 Leopard 1A5 tanks from stocks of the defense industry. Old tanks will be supplied in particular together with Denmark and the Netherlands. In total, Germany plans to send more than 100 tanks by the first or the second quarter of 2024.
Norway transferred eight tanks and Portugal sent three tanks to Ukraine. Poland announced the transfer of 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks. Four of them were delivered in late February and the other ones in early March 2023.
The United Kingdom announced the intention to transfer fourteen Challenger 2 tanks. France allocated AMX-10RC wheeled tanks to Kiev.
Tanks are also planned to be supplied by the US, Canada, Spain, Sweden and Finland.
