Iraqi security forces detain three men transporting over 30 missiles in their truck — TV

RABAT, November 6. /TASS/. Iraqi security forces detained three men near Baghdad while they were transporting more than 30 missiles in their truck, the Mawazin News television channel reported.

According to its sources, the men were arrested in Baghdad’s Latifiya neighborhood on a motorway leading to the central part of the Babil province. Authorities confiscated thirty-five missiles found to be in the vehicle. Sources also said that firearms were also seized from the detainees.

Security services are identifying the type of missiles being carried. An investigation has been launched to identify whether the men are affiliated with a paramilitary group and where the cargo was headed.

According to the Al Hadath television channel, the arrested men are members of the al-Hashd al-Shaabi Shiite militia.
