LONDON, November 3. /TASS/. Seven passenger planes in Europe received warnings about explosive devices on board on Tuesday, the BBC reported.
No explosives were found on any of the planes. Six landed at their intended destinations. One had to divert: a Boeing 737 MAX operated by LOT Polish Airlines, flying from London Heathrow, landed at Warsaw-Modlin Airport instead of Warsaw Chopin Airport.
The planes that received bomb threats were operating on the Copenhagen-Warsaw, Bergamo-Sofia, Dublin-Sofia, Manchester-Murcia and Lisbon-Rome routes. Another flight was traveling from Dublin to Rome. According to the BBC, Italian Air Force aircraft escorted it after a bomb threat was received.
The BBC said the incidents did not appear to be linked. It added that European authorities would cooperate to determine whether the incidents constituted a coordinated attack aimed at disrupting airspace operations.
