Zelensky’s former spokesperson charged in absentia with high treason — SBU

The investigators stated that Yuliya Mendel had used public statements and social media posts to discredit Ukraine on the international stage

MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Office of the Prosecutor General have charged Yuliya Mendel, former spokesperson for Vladimir Zelensky, with high treason in absentia.

"The charges have been filed under the following provisions of the Ukrainian Criminal Code: high treason committed under martial law and justification of the actions of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the SBU said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.

According to the statement, investigators argue that Mendel had used public statements and social media posts to discredit Ukraine on the international stage. As she is currently outside the country, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring her to justice, the SBU added.
