Iran calls on US to prove Hormuz mine clearance — IRGC spokesman

The previous day, CENTCOM claimed that US forces had cleared all internationally recognized main routes through the strait of naval mines

TEHRAN, October 29. /TASS/. Iran has called on the US to provide independent evidence to support its assertion that it has cleared mines from the Strait of Hormuz, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Hossein Mohebi said.

"The 1956 Suez Crisis exposed the limits of British power; history sometimes turns at strategic chokepoints. Back up your claim of clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz with independent evidence, not statements!" he wrote on X, addressing US Central Command (CENTCOM).

The previous day, CENTCOM said on X that US forces had cleared all internationally recognized main routes through the strait of naval mines. It dismissed Iranian media reports of commercial vessels striking mines as false.

Mohebi said the reality in the Strait of Hormuz is determined in the air, on land and at sea, rather than on social media or in US "media warfare headquarters."
