NEW YORK, March 3. /TASS/. The United States has "literally unlimited" stocks of weapons and is unafraid of their depletion during the war with Iran, President Donald Trump said in an interview with the RealClearPolitics portal, commenting on experts' concerns about ammunition reserves for the Patriot and THAAD systems.
"We have a lot of a tremendous amount of backlog for our medium and higher, higher than medium, much higher than medium, weapons," Trump said when asked about the weapons supply. "We have unlimited - literally unlimited. We have a lot. We are stockpiled very well."
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, hitting major Iranian cities, including Tehran. The White House justified the attack with missile and nuclear threats allegedly coming from Tehran.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps retaliated with a sweeping attack on Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia were also attacked.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and some other key Iranian figures were killed.
