PARIS, March 5. /TASS/. Paris will organize a meeting of general staff chiefs from a number of countries supporting Kiev to discuss a potential deployment of European troops to Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron said in a televised address to the nation.
He highlighted the need to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, saying that he could not "take Russia’s word for it." Macron plans to achieve that goal by sending "European forces" to Ukraine, which "will not be sent to fight on the frontline" but will monitor the implementation of a peace agreement after it is signed.
"Next week, we will gather the general staff chiefs from the countries that are willing to take the responsibility in the matter," he said.
